OPT had a successful tree planting morning at Carson Park on Saturday 30th May when seven tree saplings were planted around the periphery of this park. Many thanks to the OPT volunteers who answered the call for the first OPT planting or maintence event of 2026. These volunteers were Kate and Charles Donnelly, Gill Hyland, Lorna Roberts, Prashanth Rao, Alan Humphreys and new OPT members Laura Holder and Michael Couchman. Tree Trust Canada announcd "The Best Tree in Ontario" Pageant and an email was sent to all OPT members challenging them to find a Perth tree that could win a prize. The email also asked if the members wished OPT to partner with Tree Trust to hold a second annual Elder Tree Care Event day in 2026.  A copy of the email can be found below along with information about how to enter your favourite Perth tree into the Pageant.
