The first OPT maintenance outing of the season has been scheduled for: THURSDAY, JUNE 4 from 9:00 am -11:00 am at DAINES PARK. 

Directions: The entrance to Daines Park is off of Daines Place. When travelling west on Drummond St W (going towards HWY 7) you'll cross over the railway tracks. Then turn Left on to Daines Place which is a cul de sac. The park is in behind the second apartment building. It's a strip of land that runs along the railway track and ends at Wilson St.W

The work we'll be doing: weeding; applying a layer of compost and mulch. Widening, repairing or replacing the protective fencing as needed. 

There is a water tank at this park. If the soil is dry we'll also be watering the seedlings. 

Please bring any tools you may have for weeding,  - a pail for weeds and/or water. The weeds can be thrown in the long grass along the edges of the park. 

As always, wear what's needed to be working outdoors -hat, gloves, closed shoes or work boots, long sleeves and long pants. Bring your own drinking water as it can get thirsty working in heat.

No need to RSVP but we hope to have a good turnout of volunteers who don't have work- related or other committments. Many hands make light work!
